Culture Strategy
The Culture Strategy project is funded by South Lanarkshire Council and delivered by SLLC from March 2026 to April 2029.
We recognise that South Lanarkshire’s towns and villages each have their own unique identities, histories and communities. With an £800,000k investment from South Lanarkshire Council, this project aims to support local, community-led activities and events that celebrate and share the heritage, local history, arts and culture of places across South Lanarkshire.
Part of this funding will support the development of a place-based Culture Strategy for South Lanarkshire, recognising the important role that libraries, museums and other cultural spaces play in our communities.
But what do we mean by culture?
For this project, we see culture as the way we live and all that we do every day: from the things we create and enjoy, to the stories we share, the places that matter to us, and the ways we express our identities and connect with others.
We want to hear what culture means to you. Your views will help shape the Culture Strategy and the future of culture across South Lanarkshire.
